Learn how to use CalView calendar views in your daily Salesforce workflow.
Navigating the Calendar
CalView provides intuitive navigation to help you find and view events:
Navigation Controls
- Previous/Next Arrows: Move backward or forward in time
- Today Button: Jump to the current date
- Mini Calendar: Click any date to jump directly to it
Tool Tray
Click the sidebar toggle to expand the tool tray, which includes:
- Mini month calendar for quick navigation
- Calendar settings (if enabled)
- Data source toggles (to show/hide different record types)
Calendar Views
Switch between views using the view selector in the toolbar:
Month View
See an overview of the entire month. Events appear as colored bars. Click any day to see its events, or click an event to open the record.
Week View
See a detailed view of the week with time-based positioning. All-day events appear at the top. Timed events show in their scheduled time slots.
Day View
Focus on a single day with detailed time slots. Perfect for seeing exactly what's scheduled and when.
Interacting with Events
Viewing Event Details
Hover over any event to see a tooltip with:
- Event title
- Start and end time
- Description (if configured)
Opening Records
Click any event to open the full Salesforce record in a new tab. This works for any object displayed on the calendar.
Understanding Colors
Events may appear in different colors based on how your administrator configured the calendar:
- Different data sources (e.g., Events vs. Tasks) typically have different colors
- The color legend in the tool tray shows what each color represents
Tips for Daily Use
- Use the Today button to quickly return to the current date
- Expand the mini calendar in the tool tray for fast date navigation
- Toggle data sources on/off to focus on specific record types
- Week view is great for scheduling; Month view is best for planning
